Root of Nightmares Raid
Root of Nightmares is a raid released with Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion. This raid has you and your team investigating The Witness’ pyramid ship, now terraformed by the traveler’s light. However, this doesn’t come without its’ obstacle. You’ll have to fight waves of shadow legion cabal, solve time-sensitive puzzles, and defeat bosses all at the same time. Once you do though, you’ll be rewarded with incredible armor and weapons that will help you hold your ground in the game’s hardest content.
Root of Nightmares Raid Loot
Root of Nightmares’ loot table consists of 6 legendary weapons, an armor set for each character, and a new exotic shotgun that shoots both Stasis and Solar bullets. These weapons are a fantastic addition to your arsenal and the armor has a sleek look like none other in the game.
You get 4 drops (1 from each encounter) just by doing the full raid. There are also 2 secret chests which can drop any weapon or armor you’ve previously obtained along with raid-specific armor mods. There’s a secret chest you can get at the end of the raid that drop a guaranteed red border weapon. Finally, you can purchase a free red-border weapon of your choice at the end of the raid for 20 Spoils of Conquest

- Armor: Arms, Chest, or Legs
Third Encounter: Macrocosm
- Rufus’s Fury (Strand Auto Rifle)
- Koraxis’s Distress (Strand Heavy Grenade Launcher)
- Acasia’s Rejection (Solar Trace Rifle)
- Mykel’s Reverence (Strand Sidearm)
- Armor: Chest, Legs, or Class Item
Final Encounter: Nezarec
- Conditional Finality (EXOTIC Solar/Stasis Shotgun)
- Any legendary weapon from previous encounters
- Armor: Helmet, Legs, or Class item
Like with previous raids, these weapons can also be crafted at The Enclave. Obtaining 5 Deepsight Resonance patterns of a weapon will allow you to craft it and you can put whatever rolls you want on it to make your loadout as powerful as possible. This raid is also the first to have Strand weapons, which could be a great addition to your loadout if you’re a fan of the subclass.
